The
Labyrinth Experience
Today's lives don't allow for much reflection time, time to
look inward and begin to know who we personally are in relation to
God. During the Middle Ages, people searching for meaning to their
lives or answers to problems would walk a labyrinth. Made of
concentric circles, a labyrinth is a geometric path that leads to
the center and back out again. Within the labyrinth, the path
winds back and forth in circuits. Each turn is an "about
face" 180 degree turn.
The labyrinth has become a rediscovered tool for personal,
psychological, and spiritual transformation.
Labyrinths can be as simple as masking
tape on a large floor to as complicated as hedges grown into a
garden labyrinth. For designs and more information on labyrinths

Cookie Contest Fundraiser
Before Stake Conference we made a point to
find out what the favorite cookies were for different people in the
church as well as other well-known people. The kids then made batches
of these cookies to be tasted at Stake Conference. A table was up at
the Conference with all kinds of cookies on it. In front of each batch
of cookies was a card that read "Grants favorite cookie" or
whoever's cookie it happens to be, and then the kind. Tickets that
allowed a person to vote for their favorite cookie for a mere fifty
cents a piece. In the next bulletin, we announced the favorite cookie
of the stake. Next Stake Conference will will make and sell the "Lamoni
Stakes' Favorite Cookie."
You don't happen to know President Bush's
favorite cookie do you? Ellen Smith, Lamoni Stake
